Membership categories in ESEA include:

Ordinary Members:
May be awarded to a scientist, a researcher, lecturer, medical practitioner, technologist or technician with an approved qualification.

Institutional Members:
May be awarded to recognized Institutions, Societies or Organizations based in the region, which subscribe to some or all of the objectives of Society, and they include Educational Institutions, Research Institutions, Government agencies, Companies, NGOs and Organizations with interest in Ecology and or biodiversity.

Student Members:
May be awarded to under or postgraduate student at Colleges, and or Universities in any member country.
